VULNERABILITY ------------------------- Blind SQL Injection in XOOPS <= 2.5.6 II. BACKGROUND ------------------------- XOOPS is an acronym of "eXtensible Object Oriented Portal System". Though started as a portal system, it later developed into a web application framework. It aims to serve as a web framework for use by small, medium and large sites, through the installation of modules. III. DESCRIPTION ------------------------- It is possible to inject SQL code in the variable "selgroups" on the page "admin.php". This bug was found using the portal with authentication. To exploit the vulnerability only is needed use the version 1.0 of the HTTP protocol to interact with the application. IV. BUSINESS IMPACT ------------------------- Public defacement, confidential data leakage, and database server compromise can result from these attacks.
